The Asylum is similar to Ghost Hunt in that you explore an abandoned asylum. These can be bought at the shop, extending the game’s longevity a tad more. Moreover, playing the murderer earns you perks like bulletproof vests and exploding knives that make it easier to survive and more difficult to die. The game’s knife mechanics are surprisingly snappy and accurate. That opens up the opportunity to vie for the sheriff's role by essentially touching the revolver that pops up when the sheriff dies. ![]() You’ll need to be careful in your investigations because if you kill an innocent bystander, you die too. Meanwhile, the sheriff needs to investigate the murderer’s crimes, possibly witness them commit the crime, and kill them once they identify them. Consequently, innocent bystanders have to run for their lives. Their goal is to kill all the bystanders, all while avoiding the sheriff. The murderer runs around with a throwing knife, slashing their knife through anyone they run into. In The Mad Murder, renamed The Mad Murderer Classic, you have three choices: play as the murderer, an innocent bystander, or the sheriff. Plus, it’s incorporated sly systems like hacking into computers to hatch out slick escape routes. While it can take several minutes to wait for a round to end, the gameplay soon proves well worth the wait.
